What is Eritrea ?

Eritrea, is a country located on the Red Sea of the horn of Africa .Bordered by Sudan, Ethiopia and Djibouti, Eritrea's coastal location has long been important in its history and culture. a fact reflected in its name, which is an Italianized version of Mare Erythraeum, Latin for “Red Sea.”  

The nation has a total area of approximately 117,600 km² (45,406 sq mi), and includes the Dahlak Archipelago and several of the Hanish Islands. 

The Kingdom of Aksum, covering much of modern-day Eritrea and northern Ethiopia, was established during the first or second centuries AD. It adopted Christianity around the middle of the fourth century. In medieval times much of Eritrea fell under the Medri Bahri kingdom, with a smaller region being part of Hamasien.

When the Islam came and shine in The Arabi Island The Prophet Mohammed ﷺ and his Sahabah (Companions of the Prophet Mohammed ﷺ) have struggled so much from their people because of they changed their grandfather's religion so, he ordered his Sahabah to go to a place where they can worship the god freely there, (go to a the king of Habesha  does not oppress anyone) so, they came to place called Massawa which is in the east port of the country right now.

The Red Sea has a very important geographic location where lies to be a cross line to the goods and shipments all around the world, also The Red Sea was the route by which Islam  and Christianity reached the area, resulting to have a different religions,ethnics and                                                           strains.  

Also Eritrea has nine national languages which are Tigrinya language, Tigre, Afar, Beja, Bilen, Kunama, Nara, Saho. Tigrinya, Arabic, and English serve as the three working languages. . Among these communities, the Tigrinyas make up about 40% of the population, with the Tigre people constituting around 30% of inhabitants.
